What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Kutaisi Cable Car a worthwhile activity, particularly for its stunning sunset views and convenient access to Gora Park and Bagrati Cathedral. While the ride is short and the cabins can be wobbly, the panoramic vistas are consistently praised. Some note issues with window cleanliness and the cash-only payment policy.
"A nice activity in Kutaisi that should not be missed, one-way tickets are only 3 lari/person. I would especially recommend taking the ride during sunset hours as you can see the whole city in beautiful lights.
The ride itself is fast (only 2-3mins), runs every few minutes (when the cabin is full) and operates until 10pm in the evening.
The cable car tales you up to a hill where there is a small amusement park and some restaurants"

"1 | The cable car takes you to the hill above the city where the amusement park is located. The ride takes a few minutes, saves you the effort of going uphill and is one of the few attractions the city has to offer.
2 | Considering the ticket price, I recommend trying the cable car. From the top station of the cable car you can easily visit the cathedral.
3 | Tickets are bought at the ticket office in the station, you can only pay with cash. I don't like that double prices are applied. Georgian residents pay 1 GEL for one ride, foreigners pay 3 GEL.
4 | The cable car itself is old but stylish. There is no seating inside the cabin. I don't recommend riding in the cable car for people who suffer from dizziness."

"Nothing special, from outside it looks cool however on the inside its really wobbly and the windows are a bit dirty so you cant see that much. Also they put 5 other people with us in there so we felt bit like sardines. It was cool but wouldn’t take it again."
