Rezo is also a professional art restorationist and has personally overseen the preservation of this church's unique historical frescoes from their near destruction during the Communist period. Rezo also finances the upkeep and maintenance of this church entirely by himself, without support from the government or the patriarchate. So your donation for his personal guided tour is not a touristic scam - it is directly supporting the preservation of this site for future generations."
