"Get scenic views from the pebble island at the confluence of beautiful Lech and Wertach rivers!"
Alexander Hartmann
"You don't always have to travel far when your hometown also offers such beautiful spots for walks.
The Wolfzahnau is a 76-hectare, species-rich landscape conservation area. We walked through it on this beautiful, sunny, and snowy Sunday morning (the first Sunday of Advent), aiming for the river triangle. The Wolfzahnau is bordered on both sides by Augsburg's two largest rivers, the Wertach and the Lech. At the northern end of the Wolfzahnau, the Wertach flows into the Lech.
The circular trail leads partly along the banks of the Lech to the historic hydroelectric power station and to the Highland cattle. It's an easy hike, but since we were walking through the forest and following snow tracks left by previous walkers, we sometimes had to climb over fallen tree trunks, which made our little hike even more adventurous.
It was a great outing; there was a lot to see, and nature showed itself at its best."
