Visitors consistently praise Doberan Minster for its breathtaking beauty and historical significance, calling it an 'unexpected pleasure' and 'simply beautiful.' The intricate details, ancient woodwork, and the peaceful atmosphere, even with crowds, are frequently highlighted. Some note that renovations can impact the experience, and the painted mortar is a detail to be aware of, but overall, it's highly recommended.
"Have never been inside of a more beautiful church. I could have spent hours going from area to area to soak in every detail. Alas, e had to hurry. Would love to come again"

"Impressive brick church built in the 1300s. I'm knocking off a star for two reasons. First, when we visited in May 2025, the church was being renovated, and it was unheated on a cold rainy day, so the experience was less than ideal. Second, the mortar is painted on, not really bricks-and-mortar. So not quite as it seems."

"The place is worth to visit. The Doberan Minister is unique example of Brick Gothic cathedral of the monastery survived to our time. The cathedral was burial place for many members of Mekleburg dynasty.
The entrance fee is around 3 € ,but you are allowed to make photos.
The cathedral is huge and very beautiful. The territory around it also very beautiful, park ( used to be cathedral cemetery) with small lake and small garden full of flowers and other plants ( said to be reconstruction of the 800-years old apothecary garden).I highly recommend to visit this place. It is on close quarters of Rostok."
