"Without asking, the waiter poured himself a small glass from the bottle of Riesling (Mosel) we had just ordered.
When I inquired, he explained that he occasionally does this when guests order rarer bottles on the menu in order to try them.
Anyone with experience in the service industry would recognize this as highly unprofessional behavior, regardless of the setting. Does your establishment deem this admissible?
That said, the rest of the service was attentive and courteous, and most of the food (liver, toast, kberg klöpse) was excellent.
I would only suggest the kitchen pay attention:
1. Seasoning of the Mettigel — an anchovy flavor was unusually strong and quite off-putting.
2. Kartoffelpuffer was stale and rubbery rather than crispy and fresh.
Two unfortunate lapses in an otherwise thoughtful and well-executed dining experience that clearly aims for quality and attention to detail."

"Our first time to this restaurant on a date night, perfect summer evening spot for backyard dinner. This would also be a good place for slightly larger groups between 4 and 8.
The food was all excellent: the perfectly ripened and sweet summer tomatoes with an emulsion made of char fish as starter, the Maultaschen mit Schmelzzwiebeln and the Königsberger Klopse as mains were so mild and delicate and deliciously favored and cooked (potatoes rarely taste this good), and the sauerkirschen mit milch-softeis was a nice ending as dessert. We liked a lot the ambiance in the backyard. There was no live music that night, perhaps we left too soon. But regardless, this will be a place we take some of our special visiting friends and family.
And the service was just right: courteous (very unlike Berlin restaurant service) and yet not meddlesome.
Together with 2 beers, 1 mezcal, 1 water and bread-butter, our bill for 2 was €102.
That’s a very good deal for a great date."
