Reviews Summary

Hotel Oderberger offers a unique stay in a historic building with a stunning indoor pool, praised for its aesthetic and peaceful sauna. However, guests note that pool access is an extra cost, and some rooms require navigating complex building layouts. Occasional cleanliness concerns in changing areas and a past safety incident have been mentioned.

"The pool water is advertised as 26°C, but it feels a bit cooler than expected. It's not cold, and if you're swimming, it’s fine, but if you're just walking around or looking to relax, it might feel a bit chilly.

There are no designated swimming lanes, which can make the experience chaotic. You'll depend on others to be mindful of their surroundings, and you also need to stay alert. If you're there to swim, it feels like a bit of a gamble—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

The pool itself is decent, although you’ll notice some mold in certain areas. To be fair, it’s not terrible, but it's worth mentioning. One thing that could improve the overall cleanliness is making swim caps mandatory—there tends to be hair floating in the water, which can be off-putting.

The women’s changing room is small, with limited space. It also could use a good cleaning, as there were balls of hair scattered on the floor. The showers had mold and dirt buildup, which was disappointing.

For €10, considering this is part of a luxury hotel, the experience was acceptable but just barely. It's on the edge of being "okay," but there’s definitely room for improvement."

"Very pretty location, clean and well maintained. I go there from time to time since it’s the only pool in Berlin that doesn’t feel like an ice plunge. The one and only downside is, that you have to shower first and then walk, still wet, through a drafty staircase to reach the pool — so bring a big fluffy warm bathrobe, and then it’s fine. The sauna is just one small cabin, fitting 4 at most, without having to sit uncomfortably close to naked sweaty strangers, but it’s peaceful, spotless, tastefully designed, and blissfully free of bad Sauna music."

Annika Uppendahl

"Pretty standard hotel, small beds, good location, staff helped with bags up to room, which was appreciated as there were multiple flights of stairs.

Cost to use pool and sauna is not included in hotel fees, which is not made clear during reservation process, and which we were disappointed by.

The real issue that we had was that on the final night, a strange- and totally unclothed!- man entered our hotel room at 4:30 am. We woke up to him standing INSIDE our hotel room and had to push him out. It’s unclear how he was able to access the room as the door was closed before we went to bed. We informed both day and night reception staff and were ensured they would follow up with us, but until now have not received any response, recompense, or formal apology other than to offer us a glass of wine in the bar, which was quite inappropriate. This was a major safety issue and really affected our overall stay in Berlin."
