What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Trabi Safari as a fun, unique, and memorable way to see Berlin. The experience of driving a classic Trabant through historical landmarks is a major highlight, offering a nostalgic trip back in time. While some find it a bit pricey and the driving mechanics challenging, most agree it's a highly recommended adventure.
"Well it just had to be done....driving round Berlin in a Trabant!
We booked a place on the last tour on the Sunday. Unfortunately there had been an issue at TrabiWorld before we arrived which did delay the start but totally unforeseen and understandable situation so we had no issue with waiting. In the end it was only us in the tour which was fine. We were happy to follow our guide (in his electric car) as he took us round Berlin pointing out the key sights. Lots of bemused tourists looking and smiling as our little Trabi drove past. Having driven lots of different vehicles as part of my job getting used to the two stroke engine and column shift wasn't an issue and drove better than I expected. Though it's not at its best in stop start traffic. Would have liked to have seen what it was like on a more open road.
It was a little bit pricey, but it was good fun and a different way to see what Berlin has to offer. Would recommend it to anyone, even more so, if you have an interest in cars."

"Was in Berlin for the weekend stumbled across Trabi World, did the 1hr tour was amazing!
I’m used to driving old cars so was a breeze but. I can see how the column shift might be confusing for some people so I recommend using the realistic simulator at Trabi world but other than that an amazing experience highly recommended."

"Must-do experience. Highly recommended - what a laugh. Journey back to soviet East Germany in a charming and original Trabant. We took the 75 min self-driving tour which was plenty enough. The guide in the lead car was great and also quickly solved a minor mechanical problem at the back of the convoy (the Trabi broke down 😄). The offset driving position and column-shift takes some getting used to, but is all part of the charm."
