Reviews Summary
Winterfeldtmarkt Berlin is a vibrant Saturday market celebrated for its vast array of vintage clothing, unique crafts, and delicious food. Visitors rave about the treasure-hunting opportunities and the lively atmosphere. However, some find it can get extremely crowded, and navigating the sheer volume of stalls can be overwhelming.
"Wochenmarkt Winterfeld Platz, Berlin (weekend market)
My relatives suggested to visit a Thai market this last weekend, in Berlin! Hello? We live in Asia, so we opted for a more local Weekend Market, which in Europe are always a joy!
The quality of the produce in season, makes me want to cook incessantly, but oh well we are only two, so least I can do is admire the variety , the freshness, and especially in 🇩🇪 where a lot of bio driven produce is available, not always the prettiest looking or even of equal size & specs like supermarkets demand, but oh so full of flavour!
The produce is grown in the best climatic conditions and that makes them taste so super delicious!
Today I went for Chanterelles, (Pfifferlinge) as these are not only highly seasonal but just amazingly delicious at its peak, simple with shallots & freshly chopped parsley, nothing better exists for Mushroom lovers, in my humble opinion! (Little side knowledge, seems the German ones are almost impossible to come by, due to the Naturschutz Gesetz, mit sure true or not but appears to be funny, those I bought came from Serbia)
This particular market I was told is rather small, but if that is the case I wonder what a large market will look like!
You could get almost everything under the sun, even clothing, antiques, etc etc
Also interesting is the diversity on food offerings, I counted no less then 5 Thai stalls, plus everything from Turkish, to Uzbeks, Indian Spice varieties, to Chinese Dim Sum, hand pressed fresh juices, Quality Coffee‘s, home baked Cakes & Breads, even honey from own bee hives, plus a variety of freshly cold pressed oil, and I have hardly ever seen such variety of Liquorice!
Great way to spend a Saturday morning exploring the neighbourhood!
Enjoy!

"One of the most popular and famous weekend markets in Berlin. I really like to walk around here. The market has a lot to offer, groceries, flowers, artwork, decorations, and so on. There are some food stands for the foodies to try out. It is located in the gay district. After the market, why not discover the neighbourhood a bit more."
