Reviews Summary

Visitors often find ESOC tours highly informative and inspiring, offering a unique glimpse into space mission control and advanced technology. While many praise the educational value and the chance to learn about missions like Rosetta, some reviews mention issues with staff rudeness and tour cancellations, suggesting a need for consistent visitor experience management. Booking well in advance is crucial.

"A great experience at ESA (ESOC) for grownups and children. It is great to see and feel how ESA works, what kind of missions are running or in development. It helps to get a perspective of how far developed science and technology, the amount of instruments aboard a satellite and their accuracy level is “from another world” 😂😂
Thank you ESA for making such visits possible, a must for everyone 💪😀"

"We got an opportunity to visit the ESOC on the occasion of the 25th year of Darmstadt declared as the science city - Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt. It was a guided tour which lasted about 90 minutes. Our tour guide showed the campus, the satellites, different missions undertaken by the ESOC and also the control room followed by an interesting presentation. All in all it was interesting and informative."

"If you are into street art and come here for the Space Invaders (the "Frankfurt" invaders are located here) - there's not much of a point in coming. You can see a few from the entrance but are not allowed to get close enough to take decent pictures because "this is not German territory, this is Europe". In order to enter, take pictures, and see the hidden invaders as well, you have to book a guided tour of the facilities. These tours cost €12,50 and are booked out for several months in advance. Unfortunately, that does not really go well with the idea of street art, which should be free and accessible to everyone."
