"Beautiful view. Use your ticket from the museum to go up to the top. There are quite a few stairs but they are well lit and incased. I am afraid of heights and it wasn't a problem climbing up. However, it can be a bit windy on the observation deck and the fence isn't too high. You are not allowed to take bags or drinks with you."

"The Hausmannsturm is a tower in the old town of Dresden and the oldest surviving part of the Dresden castle complex. There's not much to see in the tower. The tower has a clock and inside the tower, you can see the mechanisms of the clock, which is actually quite fascinating. The height of the tower is over 100 metres and the views are amazing, especially as you can get a close up look of the sculptures on Dresden Cathedral and a bird's eye view of Theatreplatz.
I entered Hausmannsturm as part of the combined ticket for Dresden Castle and it's well worth the effort for the views."
