"A hidden spot in Hamborn steeped in history. Around 1,300 years ago, the first buildings stood here, initially towers, later churches separate from them. They were built in what was then a marshy floodplain landscape to promote missionary work on the right bank of the Rhine. The building's history is still evident: the lower part of the tower references its beginnings, while the floor of the church building recalls the original Romanesque church. The cloister is the highlight for today's visitors. You wouldn't expect to find such a place in the middle of a big city. It is a fascinating place of tranquility that hasn't lost its charm.
