What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Hexenlochmühle for its picturesque setting, historic charm, and the delicious Black Forest cake. The scenic drive to the mill is also a significant highlight. However, some travelers have reported inconsistent service experiences and found the mill itself less captivating than the journey there.
"The place is so peaceful and beautiful! There's more than a restaurant here - there are also gift shops to get souvenirs and a beautiful little stream with water wheels spinning.
The food is really good! We especially recommend the beef stake with caramelized onions with Spaetzle.
The Black Forest cake is absolutely perfect! Not too sweet, light and refreshing, with it's cold layer of preserved cherries and 3 layers of sponge cake soaked in some sort of alcohol, rum maybe. The only thing that matters is that it's simply delicious!
The waiter gave us great recommendations and was super nice, even helped us decide what to order for our baby.
It's a wonderful restaurant, very authentic and the drive to it is magical and gives you great views of the Black Forest."

"Super good location and even better service. Really tasty Schwarzwaldtorte :)
The food looked amazing, unfortunately we had already eaten.
I would absolutely recommend stopping here"

"We have been traveling the world for 8 years and we love being in Germany, we are always well received, unfortunately this place did not want to serve us.
There were empty tables that we couldn’t sit on, and the two attendants were rude.
It’s a shame to do this with tourists who visit the region"
