What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Burg Giebichenstein is praised as an inspiring location, blending historic architecture with a vibrant art university. Visitors enjoy the creative atmosphere and scenic river views. However, some reviews point to concerns regarding the university's curriculum and the emphasis on certain political themes.
"nice & inspiring place with creative industries students"
Markus Artur Fuchs
"Anyone accepted there is lucky, and most departments are truly excellent. However, over 20 years ago, as a fashion student, I experienced firsthand that freedom of expression and the free development of art were not fostered by some professors. Looking at the themes of today's graduation fashion shows, it's a continuation of that: professors assign themes, implement them while restricting artistic freedom, and the inclusion of political issues like gender, feminism, and politically "correct" behavior only exacerbates the problem and unsettles not only students but also the public. This particular art school should take a closer look at its recent political correctness. The incidents don't need to be recounted here."
Wanderlos Wolkenstein
"Instead of drawing clear boundaries (e.g. by removing problematic installations or taking disciplinary action), reference is made to "artistic freedom," which is irresponsible in times of rising anti-Semitism."
