Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Schlossberghöhlen Homburg for its unique geological formations and historical significance as a former air raid shelter. The cool temperatures make it an ideal summer escape, and the friendly, English-speaking staff enhance the experience. Some find the cave spiders on level 12 thrilling, while others might find them unnerving.

"Amazing place to go out and explore in a Sunday when everything else is closed. Staff is friendly and they speak English just fine!"

Andrew C

"Really interesting cave system that was also used as an air raid bunker. It has a parking lot at the top of the hill by the hotel, but you need to go down about 120 steps to reach the entrance of the cave. The cost was about €7 each and was about fair. You get a map with cave location descriptions and it runs about 45min if you take your time and look around

The cave seems well setup with emergency systems and a safety brief before entering. Hard hats -provided- are mandatory. Also, beware the cave spiders on level 12!! :)

Lastly, our visit had a super friendly worker who briefed us and answered questions about the cave. They deserve some credit for being awesome!

Definitely recommended for most ages, though you should be able to walk around crouched a bit and go up/down stairs"

Nick

"Great attraction to visit and learn about its history. Very friendly staff. Refreshing place to cool down during the summer (it’s quite chilly inside). Spiders on the top level are thrilling. Maps and descriptions available in English. Cash only. Not for people struggling with claustrophobia but comfortable and mostly not restraining to walk inside."
