Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Bavarian Army Museum for its impressive collection, particularly the incredibly detailed tin soldier dioramas and well-preserved medieval artifacts. The historic castle setting adds to the overall experience, and the museum's use of technology for information is appreciated. However, some find the exhibit spaces a bit sparse, and the gift shop selection is noted as limited.

"Super cool museum! Lots of interestonf artifacts and history and art and the building itself is cool to walk around too. I didnt know this since we had only an hour to go through it but save your time for the top floor. They implemented tech so you can view information about Each artifact from your phone with codes which was really cool but didn't save enough time for it to get the most out of that feature. The whole place is well kept and well staffed worth the entry fee!

I don't know how much tourism happens in Ingolstadt but I wish there was more of a selection in the gift shop. A few kids toys and lots of books are all I remember being there which was so so."

"This is a good museum, but to be honest, I expected more. The artifact displays are so scanty for the most part that you are acutely aware of the amount of unused space in the exhibit rooms. The artifacts that are displayed are done well and put into decent context. Their is some excellent military art displayed, with some pieces that are truly impressive.
The most impressive part of the museum for me was not the tent of the Grand Vizier but the tin soldier dioramas. They are not only huge but amazingly detailed. The dioramas make this museum worth a visit all by themselves.
I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but if you are in town with a few hours to spare, it is worth your time."
