If I want to go see the best or largest medieval collection (architecture, armor, heraldry, weapons, illuminated texts, etc), where would I go in Germany?

I'm fascinated with the ancient history up to the late 19th century and would love to see exhibits from the post-Roman era or if you have any other recommendations.

However, the lack of English translations for most exhibits is a significant drawback for non-German speakers, potentially limiting their engagement with the displays. Reddit

"museum of two floors very well organised and explained (only in german). the first floor is the about Ingolstadt development from stone age, passing by the roman empire till the era of industy and then after the 50's. with a baroque hall and a lot of antiquities and relics.
the ground floor holds special exhibition till the end of 2024 about renaissance and architecture, an industrial museum and the professions in the city and at the end the toys museum. veru amusing, duration around 1.5 - 2 hrs."

"Loads to see, but the information boards are all in German only. A couple of the interactive displays are in a choice of German or English. The desk clerk had a guide in English that she lent to me, which was very thorough and informative, however, I believe there was only one copy. 6.50 Euro entrance fee was very good value."
