What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Hohenzollern Bridge's romantic atmosphere, stunning views of the Cologne Cathedral, and the unique spectacle of thousands of love locks. The lively ambiance and scenic Rhine Promenade add to its appeal, making it a must-visit for its iconic status and photographic potential.
"This spectacular bridge…. Because it offers great view of river Rhine on both sides, the south end of the Köln cathedral and spires that are on north side and the city line.
Constructed in 1915 and major renovation done after the World War II.
The bridge itself is a wonder with 3 heavy steel arch spans longitudinally. The bridge allows only train traffic centrally and pedestrian and bikes on both ends. The west side is popular with many using this side as this directly connects the cathedral.
Its romantic angle is…. Many love hearts…. Locked their love…. With thousands… May be lakhs… which shine in the evenings as the sun rays fall directly. Locks of all types sizes can be seen. It’s pleasant walk off half a kilo meter on it."

"Such a nice walk across this iconic bridge, especially at night! Just so scenic and lovely. You’ll also get a grand view of the cathedral from it, which you can never get enough of. Would certainly recommend as a classic thing to do in Cologne!"

"From this bridge, you can see an amazing view of the Cologne Cathedral, especially at sunset when the sun glows behind it. The main attraction here is the bridge itself with thousands of colorful love locks attached along the railings. Trains pass by right next to the walkway while below you get the peaceful flow of the river.
The atmosphere is lively, you’ll see people strolling, sitting, and taking photos to enjoy the moment. The only downside is that the pedestrian and bicycle lane share the same path, so it can feel a bit cramped and you have to watch out, especially on weekends when it gets super crowded."
