What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the ZKM for its innovative and engaging exhibitions, particularly the interactive digital art and game art sections, making it a magical experience for all ages. However, some have encountered frustrating customer service at the ticket counter, with a perceived lack of helpfulness and an unwelcoming attitude.
"We loved every second here and spent 3.5 hours walking the museum. A very kind docent named Emily spoke English with us and was very knowledgeable about the art in the room! We loved the interactive exhibits and that they had English placards beneath them as well. What a magical museum to bring a child! Those, too, who are children at heart!"

"A bit disapppinting. Lichthof 1 and 2 appear to be in redecoration or setting up of New exhibitions. Lichthof 8 and 9 were better and interesting, but there was a lot of reading involved. The setting is spectacular. It has been almost 20 years since I last visited and the contents have changed considerably. I will be back, however, at some point."

"The museum itself is very interesting and worth a visit. The exhibitions are engaging and definitely recommend!!
but the ticket counter experience felt like stepping into absurdity.
When we asked if there were any special exhibitions, the lady replied with a patronizing: “Of course, this is a museum.” She also assured us that one ticket covered everything… until we crossed into another section and were told to pay again.
The highlight? Asking if there was a section for local artists. She looked at us as if we’d just asked for UFOs and lost her mind: “There are no local artists here.” Well, in a city of 300K+ people, I’d bet otherwise.
Karlsruhe, keep nurturing your own artists. we’d love to see their work shine!"
