"Love it"

"We've been there many times now – as cruise ship guests and simply for a short excursion. The Ostseekai, or Port of Kiel, is perfectly positioned as a starting point for cruises and, as mentioned, also a great day trip tip. There are parking spaces right next to the cruise ships at the Ostseekai – it couldn't be more convenient. We particularly recommend the café/restaurant "Der Alte Mann," about 250 meters from the Port of Kiel. Very friendly staff and really good food. Perfect for shortening the wait before boarding.
Another highlight is the observation deck at the Port of Kiel – simply climb the stairs at the main entrance. From there, you have a fantastic view of the ships arriving and departing. Absolutely worthwhile not only for passengers, but also as a short excursion!"
