"A lovely zoo, not too big, not too small, just the right size to explore in about 4–5 hours. The animals are very well cared for, and there are great playgrounds for kids. Perfect for a family day out. We visited on a Saturday and had no problem finding parking. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for all ages."

"The zoo is fun. We came for the capybaras and they looked very happy. ❤️ There were lots of exciting baby animals. Some exhibits were great, we especially enjoyed their farm-like exhibits. But there were also animals that looked stressed (ex. leopard constantly walking back and forth). Some exhibits are ethically outdated, in my opinion (ex. The monkey rock at the start). We did see construction for a big(ger?) gorilla exhibit, which means they are trying. But if you have personal high standards, this may not be the best yet for your enjoyment.
A fun way to spend the afternoon regardless! Kids and dogs seemed to have fun there as well."

This dedication to improving living conditions demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to zoo management and animal care.

The variety of animals, from the playful penguins and otters to the majestic gorillas and chimpanzees, ensures that there's something to capture the imagination of every child. The Schmetterlings-Dschungelhaus (Butterfly Jungle House) is particularly popular, offering an immersive tropical experience.
Furthermore, the zoo's commitment to education is evident. The donation token system encourages children to learn about conservation and the importance of protecting animal habitats, turning a fun outing into a valuable learning experience. This holistic approach makes Krefeld Zoo a highly recommended spot for a memorable family day out.
