Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the City Museum for its impressive historical collections, particularly the 1873 city model and the natural history exhibits. The friendly staff also contribute positively to the experience. However, the strict 'no photos' policy is a notable drawback for some, and reported technical issues with multimedia displays detract from the overall presentation.

"There's some really cool stuff in here. However, the patrolling to enforce the "no photos" policy is uncomfortable and excessive."

Mark Jarosz

"Very nice museum, friendly reception, and a lot of information about the city's history presented and labeled on the second floor. I was able to learn a lot.

There are special exhibitions on the first and third floors.

Stop by, it's worth it."

Marijan Mare Zezelic

"An excellent museum with weaknesses in marketing and technical implementation.
On the ground floor, a sort of best-of collection with a fantastic model of the city as it looked in 1873. Short videos about various districts can be accessed via multimedia.
On the first floor, the actual municipal collection. Absolutely impressive.
On the second floor, part of Julius Wiener's artifact collection, which for some unknown reason had to be moved from the palace. It's insane – unfortunately, the presentation is inadequately scientifically and educationally. It's completely incomprehensible that this treasure hasn't been given its own, representative home.
There's hardly any signage along the street about what can be seen up there. The city needs to make significant improvements here.
It's shameful that the multimedia technology on the first and second floors hasn't been working properly for years."
