Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the charming and historic Rathaus-Glockenspiel performance in Marienplatz, calling it a magical daily spectacle. The panoramic views from the New Town Hall tower are also highly praised, offering a great perspective of Munich. However, some find the tower visit to be a bit pricey for its duration, and occasional delays in the Glockenspiel show have been noted.

"Walk from Hotel Amba to here just in time for the 11am show but how disappointing, nothing happen at 11am. All the people staring up and to others hoping for some answer, confused and and some began to leave after 10 minutes waiting. We were looking at the souvenirs at a stall there and suddenly at about 11.30am, the music started and the show finally perform. Maybe there's been technical glitch earlier. After finish, we continued with buying some souvenirs and then it's almost 12pm, this time the show actually start right on time, finally it's back to normal.

This is a must see when in Munich. It's a much better show compared to the Astronomical Clock of Prague but that one has much more sophisticated design of the clock itself."

"Come at 11 and 12am or 5pm during summer. The bell performance is quite fun, and if you are in the area don't miss it. You can also go up the tower for a bird's eye view, but doesn't seem quite tall to me so I didn't."

"To visit the observation deck on the City Hall clock tower, you first need to purchase a ticket at the tourist information center, located on the ground floor facing the main plaza. Once you have your ticket, head to the small elevator situated in the passageway beneath the building. Reaching the top requires taking two separate lifts, but the journey is smooth and well-organized.

Once at the observation deck, you are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Munich. The vantage point offers an unobstructed look at many of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, and even the distant Alps. The tower’s height and central location make it one of the best spots for capturing stunning photos or simply admiring the city’s beauty from above. It’s a must-visit for anyone wanting a unique perspective of Munich."
