So many of you asked about our sleep over at the @natural_history_museum I decided to pop a post here. It was hands down the best family experience we have done and made for an unforgettable birthday. I think Charlie and I loved it as much as Ted. Having the freedom to wonder around such an incredible building was so special and we even saw the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition whilst...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Natural History Museum Mainz to be a small but charming museum, particularly praised for its well-preserved taxidermy and the impressive Deinotherium fossil. It's noted as being very kid-friendly with interactive elements and friendly staff. However, the lack of English translations on exhibit plaques is a recurring drawback, though easily mitigated with translation apps.

"Great museum with many lovely fossils and models. Worth a visit. Exhibit is made interesting for kids with info plates to lift at the glasscases. Personal very friendly. They plan expantion in the years to come which will only make the museum even more interesting."

Frank Osbæck

"Very small museum. You can be in and out in 30 minutes. Family ticket was 12 euros. Nothing in English, but thankfully, we had Google translate on our phones. There were no book guides in English, either. Looks like they’re renovating. With these renovations, they should highly consider English translations of the plaques also especially since it is in a touristy area. Kids ages 17, 15, 10, and 2. It was just ok for them."

Monette Eames

"It was absolutely amazing! Taxidermy pieces are in an immaculate state, everything is displayed in such a nice way. Went on Sunday and we were the only visitors there which was so peaceful. Deinotherium is their central piece and it is magnificent. My German is not good so I couldn’t understand what it said under each exhibition info, but with the modern technology and Google translate it wasn’t a problem."
