What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Weißgerbergasse for its picturesque beauty and charming medieval atmosphere, calling it one of Nuremberg's most photogenic streets. While some note it's more for a stroll and photos than extensive activities, its well-preserved half-timbered houses offer a delightful glimpse into the past.
"Cute little street with some history but there isn’t much to do. You can find other similar houses in other areas of Nuremberg. If you are short for time in Nuremberg I would not come all the way to see this street."
Juan Ángel Hernández
"Cute little street that was pretty quiet despite the huge crowds at the christmas markets. Worth a detour for some pics!"
Kathy Chen
"This is a charming street in the Old Town just north of Maxplatz that is well worth making time to pass by while sightseeing around the city. What you find here are around 20 half-timbered houses that were constructed in the Medieval Period. This row of houses while damaged mostly survived the air raids during WWII.
Being restored and preserved to its natural and historic state, this street provides a remarkable glimpse of Nuremburg during the Middle Ages, absent modern architecture and businesses. There are some shops and eateries but they have done well to keep Weißgerbergasse about as close to its original appearance as possible. It is a beautiful and highly photogenic location."
