Not much to do beyond that."

"An interesting building and one of Oberhausen's few sights. Unfortunately, the tower cannot be visited as it is privately owned. But it's worth taking a look at the water tower from the outside."
Krystian Salewski
"The water tower was commissioned in 1897 by the Gutehoffnungshütte (GHH) to supply water to its own buildings, production facilities, and neighboring houses.
It is 56 meters high and holds 1,000 cubic meters of water. Its function as a water reservoir ended in 1965. It has been a listed building since 1985.
In the final months of the war in 1945, it suffered some damage, which was repaired in 1947.
From the 1923s, the lower floors were occupied until 1955. After that, the premises served as offices for several decades, until around 1978.
It is still an imposing structure, and its brick architecture makes it a fine example of industrial buildings of the period. It appears powerful and imposing, especially in the dark, when the steel water tank glows blue-green."
