What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find St. Erhard Basilica to be a beautiful and uniquely decorated church with a distinct Romanesque interior. Its historical significance, particularly the burial of St. Wolfgang, is a major draw. While the basilica itself is highly recommended, opinions on the adjacent castle are mixed.
"the Basilik itself dated originally to the 8th century, but destroyed and rebuilt over the years. it was also part of the big complex with the Thurn castle and the royal stables along side the old monastery and the tower. the interior is old dated to that romanesque era, the altars and the Burials are well decorating the area. underneath the church you will find the Burial of St. Wolfgang which had a large impact on the Building and on the religious behaviour back then."
