Family Visit Considerations

While the museum offers family activities and tickets, reviews suggest younger children (5-12) might struggle to engage with the exhibits. Consider if the atmosphere is suitable for your kids before booking a family ticket.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Arp Museum Rolandseck for its stunning Richard Meier architecture and the impressive collection of Hans Arp's work. The family-friendly art activities are a highlight, though the building's design presents some practical challenges like restroom locations. While visually captivating, the museum's atmosphere may be less engaging for very young children.

"This has to be one of the best museums for lovers of modern art. The upper floor has the amazing collection of the Arps and their circle, the middle floor hosts exhibitions which are a bit hit or miss. The only problem is the design of the building which looks great but is not very practical: the only toilets are in the basement and there is no lift for visitors, just a massive utility lift the visitors are not really encouraged to use."

Michael Rittig

"A beautiful building with its own secrets ;) loved the interior and exterior decisions; you feel like in someone's dream and it's fantastic.

There are a lot of things to do - you can create your own small piece (a postcard) which I find super cool. You can also learn more about the people behind the museum and enjoy the view.

The restaurant is a bit fancy, but the wine is out of this world!"

Diana Kotova

"The Arp Museum is our favourite Museum in the area of Bonn, Cologne, Koblenz. The architecture of the Museum is unique mixing classistic parts (Old Train Station) with modern elements gripping into the forest surroundings. As the building is situated next to the Rhine River visitors have an amazing view from different levels of the Museum, especially from the Terrasse at the Café. The exhibitions are always mixing Dadaism with more "classical" art, offering enough space for installations and other art. Fridays there is an open workshop for people to make art themselves. Great Museum 😍💥💫"
