Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Glockenschmiede Ruhpolding as a charming and historically significant site, offering a unique glimpse into traditional bell forging. The water-powered hammer forge and informative films are highlights, though the German-language descriptions may be a barrier for some. It's considered a worthwhile stop for those interested in craftsmanship and local history.
"Great little blacksmith museum with “hammer forge” where the waterwheel moves large hammers to flatten out the steal. All the boards are in German, but it’s worth looking around. There are 2 short movies in German, but you can get the general idea with the words.
Tickets are €4.50, and probably worth it.
If you are in the area, interested in a little old timey blacksmith trade and have about 2hrs to burn, I highly recommended.
You can also buy a ligit hand forged cowbell."
