Reviews Summary

Golfclub Ruhpolding is highly praised for its stunning Alpine location and immaculately maintained course, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience. Visitors rave about the breathtaking views, particularly from Hole 13, and the friendly atmosphere. While the back nine presents a significant test with its hilly terrain, the overall quality of the greens and fairways makes it a must-visit for golfers in the region.

"Really great golf course with amazing views of the Austria Alps.

I will definitely arrive again."

Torfi Jóhannsson

"I was at a tournament and the weather was great, cold but sunny - the course was at its best, and when you start from the first hole, it gives you the feeling that you're on a flat and wide golf course - but the second nine is tough, with hill after hill and tricky greens - in short, everything you could wish for :-) The driving range is a bit confusing; you either have to drive or walk a long way, or you can just hit the net with your wood or driver - you can practice your irons near the clubhouse - but only up to 180 m :-) So, long hitters, beware - the restaurant is a bit far away because the clubhouse is currently vacant, but that honestly doesn't matter. Highly recommended if you're nearby..."

Wolfgang Gruschwitz

"This golf course in Ruhpolding is a true dream for golfers of all abilities! The location in the Bavarian Alps is simply breathtaking and offers a spectacular backdrop for every round. The course itself is superbly maintained and varied, with some challenging but fair holes. The quality of the greens is particularly impressive."

Navigating the Ruhpolding Course

Golfclub Ruhpolding presents a unique golfing challenge, cleverly designed to integrate with its stunning alpine surroundings. The front nine offers a more forgiving start, characterized by wider fairways and a generally flatter terrain, allowing golfers to find their rhythm. This section provides a pleasant introduction to the course and its scenic beauty.

However, the back nine dramatically shifts gears, demanding greater precision and stamina. This stretch is renowned for its hilly landscape, with significant elevation changes that require strategic shot-making and a good level of fitness. Tricky greens add another layer of complexity, ensuring that even experienced players are kept on their toes. This contrast between the two halves makes for a dynamic and memorable round.

Visitors often highlight the immaculate condition of the course, with fairways and greens consistently praised for their quality and playability. This attention to detail ensures a premium golfing experience, regardless of the challenge presented by the terrain.

The Alpine Backdrop: More Than Just Scenery

The location of Golfclub Ruhpolding is arguably one of its most significant draws. Nestled in the Bavarian Alps, the course provides breathtaking views that enhance every moment of play. The proximity to the Austrian Alps means that panoramic vistas are a constant companion, transforming a round of golf into a truly immersive nature experience.

One of the most celebrated spots is Hole 13, a par 5 that features an elevated tee box. From this vantage point, golfers are treated to a magnificent panorama of Ruhpolding and the surrounding mountain ranges. This hole is not just a golfing challenge but also a prime photo opportunity, capturing the essence of the region's natural splendor.

This integration of the course with its environment is a key reason why many visitors consider Golfclub Ruhpolding an absolute must when in the area. The combination of challenging play and spectacular scenery creates a unique and highly recommended golfing destination.

Clubhouse and Practice Facilities

While the main clubhouse at Golfclub Ruhpolding is currently undergoing renovations, the club ensures that essential amenities remain available. A restaurant is accessible, providing a place to dine and relax after your game, though it may be situated a short distance from the main clubhouse area. This temporary setup does not detract significantly from the overall visitor experience, as the focus remains on the quality of the course itself.

For those looking to warm up or hone their skills, the driving range offers practice opportunities. However, it's worth noting that the layout might be a bit unconventional for some. Long hitters should be aware that the primary hitting area might have limitations, and specific zones for practicing irons are available closer to the clubhouse, with distances up to 180 meters. Understanding these nuances of the practice facilities beforehand can help golfers optimize their preparation for the course.
