Fr. Joseph-Anthony Kress, O.P., reports from St. Peter’s Square on the eve of the Conclave. As the Cardinals prepare to enter into prayer and discernment, he invites us to do the same. May the Holy Spirit guide the Church in the choice of the next successor of St. Peter.

"Adorable church and graveyard."

"My favorite little northern German church. We live in SPO for half the month, and I love coming here for a few contemplative minutes, light a candle (1 euro), and be alone and with myself for a while. The old church is beautiful to look at, and organ concerts are also held there. There's an active cemetery around the church, so please respect the dignity of the place. You often see bereaved relatives tending graves, and of course, they don't want their photos taken. For me, it's a haven of peace amidst the tourist hustle and bustle."

"A beautifully designed church with free admission. The grounds surrounding the church and the cemetery are beautifully landscaped with attention to detail. It fits perfectly into the center of St. Peter-Ording. The interior of the church is extremely simple. For a few years now, a Protestant confessional has been visible in the Catholic church, which is somewhat odd."
