What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Kocher-Jagst Cycle Route is highly praised for its excellent signage, well-maintained paths, and scenic beauty along the rivers. Travelers appreciate the abundance of charming towns, historic sites like monasteries and castles, and plentiful dining options. While generally smooth, some sections involve steep climbs, and occasional river flooding can occur, so preparation is key.
"Unfortunately, we were only able to cycle a small section (Jagst). The cycle path ran along the river, only when it got a bit narrow in the valley did it climb steeply up the bank. There were plenty of bike repair stations, many restaurants/beer gardens, swimming opportunities in the river, beautiful churches, palaces and castles, and interesting towns. It's worth the trip; we'd happily do another stage or two there. The picture is of Schöntal Monastery, and I recommend stopping off at the disused train station; it's very tasty."

"A beautiful cycle path along the Jagst and Kocher rivers. We did the route last week and were thrilled. The signage is very good, and the paths, with one exception, are in extremely good condition. It's also a circular route, which makes getting there very easy. Overnight accommodations are provided. We found an inn at each stage in the evening."

"The two of us cycled the cycle path starting in mid-May...
Our first tour, and it was so beautiful.
Perfect signage, even construction sites and cross-connections are marked...
Great website with all the information you need if you want to start somewhere else... We still did 5 stages, as there's so much to see."
