Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Paläon's world-class exhibits, particularly the ancient wooden spears and other prehistoric artifacts. The unique excavation site and panoramic mine view are also highly praised. Some minor points for improvement include the shop's selection and the cafe's inconsistent opening hours, with a suggestion to increase international advertising.

"This is an amazing experience. The site is unique, exposing the oldest wooden spears in the world, along with numerous other human artifacts and fossils several hundreds of thousands years old. The museum is well organized, with visually attractive exposition and cool exponates. The opportunity to visit the excavations and observe the fisdil-bearing strata, with a panoramatic view on the enormous open-cast coal mine is breath-taking. A must see!"

"Wow. It was so amazing to learn about all the findings from 300,000 years ago. 🤯"

sairam nivedita

"Excellent museum. Well worth the visit and very interesting. Don't miss the old mining equipment at the nearby view point.

Things to improve:

1) The shop and range of goods that can be purchased need work.
2) Get the Cafe open! On a Saturday when we visited it was closed and it would have been great to have a coffee.
3) Change the name - obviously named by a group of scientists.
4) I think the museum really needs to advertise itself more to international visitors."
