In the past, before the coronavirus pandemic, it was possible to discuss brief questions about properties and construction projects with staff on-site once or twice a week and coordinate the next steps.
That's no longer possible.
Even years after the coronavirus pandemic, City Hall is cordoned off by security, and no one can see the staff anymore. So, what worked for decades is no longer possible in 2025.
Emails are not being answered. After countless calls, I was finally able to speak to the employee. When I asked why there was no response to my email after three weeks, the only response was, "We don't have time to respond." When I asked if I could come by to clarify the development, the response was negative. I was asked to please submit a preliminary building inquiry or building application directly, then I would receive an answer...
The big problem is that almost all employees are regularly working from home and not on-site at City Hall. It's clear that productivity suffers when you have to manage the housework during your working hours. But of course, you get used to it and are stressed when you're asked to provide information. Thanks for nothing.
