What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Tagblatt-Turm elicits mixed reactions, with some praising its unique 1920s Art Deco architecture and historical significance as a 'gem' and 'ahead of its time'. Others find its utilitarian concrete form to be 'ugly' and a detriment to the cityscape. Despite differing opinions on its aesthetics, its status as a listed building and its prominent location make it a notable landmark in Stuttgart.
"Gem of a building"
Shakib Akram
"At 61 meters high, with its gray exposed concrete and purist form, the structure is the ugliest building in Stuttgart, which also says a lot about Stuttgart: focused on the essentials, nothing fancy, everything functional. To me, it looks like something like this had to be built in the past to show the world that you don't understand fun, that you're sober but also willing to try something new, even if you manage to create something that towers like a gray pimple. What's shocking is that the structure is a listed building and will therefore continue to spoil the cityscape."
Öner Durmaz
"Unobtrusive high-rise building. Unfortunately, the one opposite was shockingly demolished. With what is definitely missing in the cityscape."
