Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the HfG Ulm Campus, calling it a 'paradise' with a vibe that dispels negativity. It's highly recommended as a wedding venue and a must-visit for design history enthusiasts, praised for its preserved architecture and engaging exhibitions. Some note that current occupants may not align with the HfG tradition.

"Am hochsträß is paradise. I love the vibe it gives. It can take away all your negativity. In love with this place. Am glad to live here since one year"

Navami A S

"We celebrated our wedding at the HfG and can highly recommend it as an event location! Mr. Rupf was our contact and supported us competently from the very beginning: quick response times, uncomplicated, and experienced in events! We felt very comfortable and have never regretted having our wedding there!"

Franziska Reichle

"A must-visit for all design (history) enthusiasts. As the world's most important design school after World War II, the building, after its closure in 1968, now serves as a museum, largely open to the public. The preserved building is managed by the Stiftung Hochschule für Gestaltung (University of Design), the successor to the Geschwister-Scholl-Stiftung (Sibling-Scholl-Stiftung). The former workshops house the HfG Archive, part of the Ulm Museum. There, you can admire a meticulously thought-out permanent exhibition that presents the history of the school in an engaging way. In addition to theoretical knowledge, legendary objects designed by students and teachers can also be admired. In addition to the permanent exhibition, thematic special exhibitions are regularly presented.

Also to be admired (from the outside) is the entire, still preserved and well-maintained campus of the former HfG, including the lecturers' residences, studios, and the residential tower of former students. (Now in private use.)

The archive can be used for academic purposes upon appointment."
