What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the impressive scale and organization of the Volkswagen factory, with many enjoying the Autostadt's museums and brand pavilions. However, some find the factory tour itself to be somewhat limited in visibility and duration, with occasional issues regarding audio clarity. Despite these points, it's generally considered a worthwhile experience for car enthusiasts.
"Couldnt see much because everything was either blocked by a fuse box, behind some glass or just not on or hear much because the speaker volume was low in the tour bus. But the factory was good lookig and organized."

"Introducing the 1970 Volkswagen Beetle! “Say what?” Undoubtedly one of the best automobiles of all time. “Why?” you may well ask. Well, I’m going to tell you why.
(1) On the road with title, tax, etc. would run you about $2,100.00
(2) They were extremely reliable with low cost maintenance (you could either take it a dealer and they’d thank you for letting them fix your wagon; or you could repair it yourself- generally speaking, all it required was a screwdriver).
(3) They have excellent resale value- they’re now selling between $22,000 and $40,000+, depending on condition.
(4) They were great in the snow because the engine was over the drive wheels; that, and there was a steel shell underneath (they could actually float).
(5) VW sold over 22M of them."

"It was a very disappointing experience for us. We drove especially to Wolfsburg for that tour and have regretted doing so.
The tour was supposed to be officially 1 hour, but was in reality 50 minutes brutto, but in reality, without the bureaucracy and driving in the factory, we were in reality in the factory only 25 minutes.
The first guide on the general bus didn't have the best of english and was asking his colleague for the words in English. In the factory the other guide had good english and was explaining very well and interestingly, but was driving fast (25 minutes for the entire assembly line), where we could barely see the robots moving...
Do it if you are in Wolfsburg for some reason, but I wouldn't recommend driving there especially for that."
