What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Tabak Bridge for its historical significance and well-preserved Ottoman architecture, offering a tangible connection to the past. While some note that the surrounding landscape can be less appealing in summer, the bridge itself is consistently described as a beautiful and powerful construction. It's a recommended stop for those exploring Gjakova's Old Town.
"So here is the thing. In Spring, I bet this bridge looks a lot better with a lush surrounding, however, in the middle of July, it is hardly worth your time. Shrubs are all around are yellow, melting asphalt meshes with the passing cars to make the whole experience less quaint, and there are just no good angles to take a photo of the bridge without including some debris or modern buildings in it. Best visited in Spring for full effect."

"Well-preserved Ottoman bridge that has been made practically obsolete by the adjacent modern bridge for vehicular traffic, but pedestrians can still cross this stone bridge. It is a short walk from the Catholic Cathedral and not too far from Old Town."

"What a wonder to stroll across such a beautiful 400 year old cobbled bridge.
My human mummy and I took a while to walk down to see this bridge and we weren't disappointed.
The road bridge beside it looks so miserable in comparison.
I felt like I was walking into history.
Such a powerful construction, standing the test of time.
I was wondering if more of it was over water in the past. Now, there is mostly grass. Was there once water where the grass is?"
