Reviews Summary

Agia Pelagia Beach is praised for its calm, clear waters and family-friendly atmosphere, with stunning cliffside views and convenient beachfront dining. However, some visitors note issues with crowdedness, potentially rude staff, and occasional concerns about water cleanliness due to sewage discharge. The cost of sunbeds and limited space can also be a drawback for some.

"We arrived an hour before sunset on a Sunday and found easy, free parking on the street. A 3 minute walk to the beach and we stopped at a minimarket on the way to buy some water. Now the beach as very little coastline for you to sit on, so you have to choose your spot carefully. You can either rent chairs, knowing the water with rush up under you. You can opt for a small section of sand, knowing that the water will wash away your things. You can grab a spot at the local bars/tavernas/cafes which are open the elements. We, however, walked to the rocks on the cliffside and that was a solid choice!
The water is calm and beautiful. I swam around the coastline and was surprised by how many fish were swimming with me! A school of tiny silver fish, thousands of them, hung out with me. There were tiny rainbow fish too. It was beautiful. There are plenty of boats, so be careful. There are also place to jump off the cliff into the water, so be careful of divers too!
All in all, if you are near Heraklion, I recommend this nice beach for a day of fun."

"Süper nice beach. The bay is pretty much immune to wind. It wasn't crowded when we visited and the cafe behind serves many food & drinks and provides showers and WC."

Olcay Sertel

"A beach with clear water. It's very small, so there's little space for sunbathing or umbrellas. A set of umbrellas and loungers costs €10, but it's impossible to find any. Even if you go at 8:00 a.m., everything is occupied only by towels, which I believe are left the night before. People arrive at 10-11:00 a.m. I find this practice very unfair and wouldn't return to this beach for this reason."
