Reviews Summary

Sarandaris Coves is praised for its beautiful, clear waters and sheltered, peaceful atmosphere, offering a lovely escape from busier tourist spots. While parking and sunbed availability can be challenging during peak times, the amenities and natural beauty make it a highly recommended destination for relaxation and swimming.

"Lovely small beach that is sheltered from the wind. There is a paved path to the beach with some steps, that is somewhat steep for people with limited mobility, but still doable. The water is clear and there are small pebbles as you enter the water and the rest is sand. There is a person that rents umbrellas but we didn't use this and unsure how much it costs. Away from the crowds. Fairly easy to find parking nearby."

Iva Filipovska

"Small but very nice beach, with a full infrastructure: sunbeds, shower, toilets, cantina, etc. The water in this place is very clear; instead of regular sand, there are small white rocks, but you can walk on bare foot without any problems; in some parts of the beach, there are big rocks in the water, but again, it was not a problem. The price for a set of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella is 12 euros for a half day (4 hours) or 24 euros for a whole day."

Paweł Pr

"This beach is absolutely amazing! We were there nearly everyday, the water is clean and on a nice day when the sea is quiet you can do some snorkeling and admire the fishes.

A note to add, the beach is very busy in season and it sometimes tough to find any sun beds so if you like one arrive a bit earlier I felt like after 12pm it was very hard to get a sun bed,

Same goes with parking, the road to the beach is very narrow and it’s hard to find a space to park there, there is a parking but only for hotel guest that is round the corner.

There is a cafe on the corner where you can have a meal and a drink.

I feel like it is a perfect spot ✨"

👨‍👩‍👧 Families with Kids

Sarandaris Coves can be a good option for families, offering clear, shallow waters that are generally safe for children to play in. The sandy and pebbly seabed is comfortable for little feet. However, parents should be mindful of the access path, which can be steep in parts, and supervise children closely, especially near the water's edge. TikTokReddit

Bringing your own beach toys and snacks is recommended, though there is a cantina on-site for convenience. In-depth insights and expert knowledge

Exploring the Coves and Coastline

Sarandaris Coves is not just one beach, but a series of smaller, interconnected coves nestled along the coastline near Hersonissos. This unique geography offers a sense of discovery as you explore each little inlet. The waters here are renowned for their exceptional clarity, inviting visitors for a refreshing dip or a leisurely swim. Many travelers find these coves to be a peaceful escape, sheltered from the wind and offering a more intimate beach experience compared to larger, more exposed stretches of sand. TikTok+2

The terrain around the coves can vary. While some areas have a paved path with steps for access, others might involve a bit of a scramble down rocks. This means comfortable footwear is a good idea, especially if you plan to wander between the coves or explore the rocky edges. The seabed transitions from small, smooth pebbles near the shore to soft sand further out, making it comfortable for walking barefoot once you're in the water. TikTokReddit

For those who enjoy observing marine life, Sarandaris Coves is a great spot for snorkeling. On calm days, the clear waters reveal a variety of small fish swimming around. It's a simple yet rewarding activity that adds another layer to the beach experience, allowing you to connect with the underwater world. Reddit

Practicalities: Sunbeds, Parking, and Amenities

When visiting Sarandaris Coves, it's wise to be prepared for its popularity. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, offering a comfortable base for your day. However, these can be in high demand, especially during the peak season and after midday. Many visitors recommend arriving earlier in the day to secure a spot, as finding available sunbeds can become challenging later on. Reddit

Parking is another aspect to consider. While there are parking areas nearby, they can be quite narrow and fill up quickly. Some parking spaces are designated for hotel guests, so public parking might be limited. If you're staying close by, walking to the beach is often a more stress-free option. Reddit

Despite the potential crowds and parking challenges, Sarandaris Coves offers good amenities for visitors. You'll find essential facilities such as outdoor toilets and showers, which are very convenient. There's also a cantina or cafe located on-site, perfect for grabbing a meal, a refreshing drink, or a snack without having to leave the beach. Reddit
