"We were absolutely buzzing to spot a sea turtle during our visit! There are two main viewing points listed on Google Maps, but to be honest, it’s really just the harbour itself that’s the place to be.
We headed to this marked viewing spot first (bit of a lucky dip, we thought), and would you believe it – turtle spotted straight away! It was surprisingly big and just gliding about in the calm, clear water like a proper local.
We did pop over to the other viewpoint too – apparently, it’s meant to attract more turtles because of the fishing boats and all that – but no luck there. Still, it was a lovely walk and worth a look.
Because it’s all right in the centre, there’s loads to do nearby – shops, cafés, bits and bobs to browse – but hands down, the sea turtle was the highlight of the day.
If you're in the area, definitely take a wander down to the harbour and keep your eyes peeled. You might just get lucky like we did."

"I was extremely excited at the idea of seeing "A wild turtle" nothing could have prepared me for what I saw! We took a walk along the harbour, started to get that feeling in my chest that I was gonna be let down, we walked across the bridge towards the monument and then someone walked past with their phone in their hand! It was a turtle, I was looking for the completely wrong signs! It bobbed along under the surface happy as a clam and then went on its way, I couldn't have been happier, we walked to the monument and then back along the harbour, then suddenly 4 turtles swimming around near the boats! Spent a good 30-45 minutes watching and recording them!
We were told 10-11 is the best time by guides, but locals were telling us they're there all day, it just depends if you're lucky and get the right spot at the right time."
