""The former monastery church, Metochia of John of Patmos, is one of the most successful examples of Byzantine sacred architecture on the island of Crete. The simple four-pillared structure with tectonically structured facades dates from the 11th/12th century. The area of Stylós on Crete was donated to the Pamos Monastery by Emperor John II Comnenus (1118-43) at the beginning of the 12th century.
