Delos day trip - whole day and not just four hours?
We'll be staying a week on Mykonos in July, and of course Delos is on our to-do list. And I#d rather like to see it extensively! I just wonder about two things: - Is it possible to just "skip the line" by buying a guided tour but then stroll around on your own? - If we are…
Thoughts on Delos/Mykonos daytrip?
I'm considering a guided tour day trip to Delos/Mykonos: 1. If you have one day to spend for a daytrip, is Delos worth going? or is better to just go to Mykonos? 2. Is guided tour recommended or just go by yourself?

"New museum with remarkable statues and artifacts. The outdoor site is vast! There are helpful boards along the way with photos and descriptions but honestly it's a place best appreciated with a knowledgeable guide to flesh out the history of Delos."

"A half an hour ferry ride from Mykonos brings you to Delos. Beautiful island with a lot of historic importance. Get ample food and water as there were no cafés on the island when we were there in the first week of May. The best part of the visit was the short but steep hike to the highest point on the island. The views are spectacular!"

"Absolutely amazing experience. And my daughter was thrilled to see so many cats (she spotted 16) inhabiting the uninhabited island. We loved seeing the cats lounging on ancient stone."
