What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning views and refreshing water access, often highlighting the unique experience of swimming off concrete platforms with ladder entry. The proximity to town centers and the beautiful neoclassical architecture create a picturesque setting. While generally loved, some note the lack of sand and the potential for waves from ferries.
"super amazing swimming platform at the side of ermoupolis. amazing views and crystal clear water with lots of space for sunbathing and lounging about, about a 5 minute walk from the middle of town and the port and is absolutely stunning. easy access into the water with ladders , be careful as sometimes when the ferries leave port waves are made which wash over the platform so leave stuff at the back of the platform on the benches to stop it getting wet !"

"Just a few minutes’ walk from the center of Ermoupoli (and what a beautiful walk it is), you’ll find the magical Vaporia Beach. But don’t expect a typical sandy beach – this spot has a totally unique vibe. Instead of sand, there are stone platforms and little ladders leading you straight into the crystal-clear Aegean waters. It feels a bit like a hippie hangout mixed with postcard perfection.
What makes it so special are the views all around – you’re swimming with the backdrop of stunning neoclassical architecture, the harbor, and the impressive Agios Nikolaos church standing tall above. The atmosphere is laid-back and authentic, with people sunbathing, diving, and just enjoying the simplicity of life by the sea.
If you’re in Syros, Vaporia is an absolute must-visit – not just for a refreshing swim, but for the one-of-a-kind experience of floating in turquoise waters while gazing at some of the island’s most iconic views. 🌅🏛️💦"

"So pretty, not very far walking from Port. Has change shed. Beautiful water. Beautiful views. No sand, swim off concrete platform via ladder. Has free unbrellas."
