Reviews Summary

Pirates' Fjord Kalypso offers a unique, dramatic landscape with clear waters, appealing to those seeking a short visit for photos and a dip. However, some visitors find the concrete beach, entry, and cost of amenities disappointing, labeling it a tourist trap. The historical and mythological allure is a significant draw for many.

"Beach is ok, steep enter and ladders into water. Be aware that people jump from the beach.

2 sunbeds and umbrella cost 20
Euro in 2025. Sunbeds made of wood and very heavy. Beach is concrete so bring aqua shoes for better experience.
Water was clear and good for snorkeling."

Nikolay Kireev

"It s a small beach, you ll most likely need to bring your own towel and won t find a place to sit. However, its a great spot to spend 1h, tale some pics and a bath, snorkel and dive from the cliffs. The water is colder as its deep, but a beautiful crystal clear blue. There s a shop to get drinks nearby."

Irina Ursu

"Very disappointed… this ranks as the number one thing to do on Crete on many lists, so we drove nearly two hours to get there and spend the day, only to find that it’s just a concrete pad with sun chairs and a mildly interesting lagoon. Terrible waste of time. We left after 15 min. Something is wrong with the high reviews, or maybe this is just not our thing. Avoid this place. It’s a tourist trap. So many better places to go in Crete."
