Reviews Summary

Gerani Beach Crete is praised for its long, sandy expanse, clear waters ideal for snorkeling, and a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the accessibility and affordability of nearby amenities, with many enjoying the unique moonrise spectacle. Some note the presence of pebbles at the tide line and occasional strong waves.

"First of all, it's a beach. It is a good stretch of a beach, has warm sea and sand with loose pebble band at the tide line (I've managed just okay without shoes though). The sea is clean, but may be murky if there are waves (cause bottom is sandy once you past the tidal line). I saw at least five different kinds of fish, all that within 3 metres off the tide line (snorkeling) and I haven't even tried hard looking for them.
At night, if you just about patient, there's a chance to see the erupting moon over the little rock off to the right in the sea. Enjoy!"

"This was a nice beach which we visited in the late afternoon when it was a little cooler. The hotel we stayed at had it's own part with sunbeds and umbrellas. Some days there were red warnings as the waves were a little strong but still enjoyable to relax."

Jonathan Stewart

"The beach of Gerani is 3 km long beach which is located at West Crete 13 west of Chania. It belongs at the municipality of Platanias and is a tourist beach surrounding by hotels . Easy access at the beach and busy at the summer but at the same time quite because of its length and wide."
