What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Archaeological Museum of Thassos to be a fascinating and unexpectedly large collection, offering a deep dive into the island's history. While many praise the exhibits and the helpfulness of the staff, some express disappointment with the discrepancy in ticket prices and the condition of certain display areas. The adjacent Ancient Agora is also a highlight for many.
"A nice place with a touch of history. What disappointed me greatly was the neglected first part of the tour (some display cases are illegible, faded). Furthermore, the website lists the admission price as €4, which I would consider adequate for what is on offer. Upon arrival, you find that the price has been covered up and is now €10. I recently visited the history museum in Heraklion, Crete, and this place is like its poor relative.
It's worth a visit, but it could use a little care and a little less greed."

"Ticket cost 4€ on their site and 10€ on the door. The museum shop doesn’t have credit card terminal. The museum is very nice, so much to see, and it is unexpectedly big. The lady working on the first floor was very nice to explain to us where to start our visit. You will need half an hour to one hour to explore it all. Then you can go next door, to the site where excavations are and see the ruins."
