What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Mount Ipsarion for its stunning panoramic views and the rewarding hiking experience through beautiful nature. While the trails are often peaceful, the summit can be busy due to vehicle access. It's a challenging but highly recommended adventure for those seeking breathtaking vistas of Thassos.
"Okay, where to start.
I walked here from the village of Potamia, thinking I would spice up my stay at the seaside and lose some of those all-inclusive desserts.
The journey to the summit itself is very pleasant. It leads through beautiful nature and you meet very few people.
Of course, it is more demanding and I recommend it to people who are in good physical condition. Unfortunately, the summit itself has fallen victim to mass tourism. Jeeps, quad bikes, and guides drive up there. I sat at the top for two hours waiting for a moment of peace, but unfortunately in vain. There are beautiful views and panoramas here, but you should have to earn them. So if you are looking for solitude, peace, and a connection with nature, adjust your expectations or go elsewhere."

"A very beautiful peak with a great view of the sea. It is worth climbing, but it is quite a long way to get there. If you are on a bike, it is easiest from Castro, and on average it takes 3-4 hours to reach the peak, entirely on a dirt road. If you are on foot from Potania, you can climb it, but it is very steep."

"If you’re in a good shape you’ll get some stunning views and a hike to remember. It’s totally worthy!"
