While the site is small and the statues are replicas, its unique blend of Greek and Egyptian influences and its stunning coastal location make it a worthwhile quick stop. "Very interesting place by the sea, kind of unexpected in Greece with this egyptian sculptures with greek faces. Quickly visited (10-15 mn) but still free and not touristic at all."

"Beautiful monument to visit! Entry is free, we were allowed to take our dog as long as he stayed on the path. It’s nothing big and the beach infront is breathtaking, so you can easily combine those two!"

Michelle Ribeiro

"Very interesting archeological site but disappointed there wasn't more to look at. The statues at this site are replicas and original are at a different location, housed in a museum. There's no guide and no pamphlet to tell you what you're looking at, but very briefly, it's a Greek-Egyptian sacred sanctuary that was built on a marsh that resembled the Nile of Egypt. The relationship Greeks had with Egypt was a very intricate one and although the statues here are in obvious Egyptian style, they have Grecian faces!!! The area in the middle was a pyramid and the entrances were guarded by Osiris or as the Greeks had their own name for this god, "SERAPIS"."
