What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Paleokastritsa Monastery for its breathtaking panoramic sea views and serene atmosphere. The free entry and small museum are appreciated, though parking can be challenging during peak times. Some find the crowds in September noticeable.
"It is a recommended visit in Paleokastritsa to start with, it offers a great view, walk in the yard of the monastery and small museum along with a gift shop.
Free entry but you have to cover legs, they offer at the gate.
Parking - two options, easier one is to drive up to the hill and the monastery. These are limited spots.
Second option is the parking before climbing to the monastery. It is paid for the day. Then the walk up is around 10 minutes.
There is also a path to a viewpoint which is easy and offers another view.
It was quite busy with tourists and groups although it was already September."

"Beautiful monastery with excellent view. There is parking place, but recommend to come earlier coz it gets crowded around noon. There is public toilet on the left side before entrance, 1€ to enter. There are no tickets it is based on small donations to enter in to monastery. Small museum is also part of the monastery."

"The view was amazing the sun went down between the hills painting the sky beautiful colors. The wind was not strong but refreshing. The sun was a bit strong so i would recommend putting on sunsceam if you are planning on going there for dinner. Otherwise both the food and the service were perfect. No complains. Left with unbuttoned pants."
