Yunanistan'a yer alan Panagia Chalkeon Kilisesi 👇🏼 📌Batı girişinin üzerindeki kitabeye göre, kilise 1028 yılında yaptırılmış.

Reviews Summary

Panagia Chalkeon is appreciated for its beautiful red-brick Byzantine architecture and pleasant garden setting. However, many visitors note that it is frequently under restoration, limiting interior access. Despite this, the exterior is considered charming and worth seeing, especially in the morning.

"Panagia Chalkeon is a small church in the center of Thessaloniki.
It is a 10th-century Byzantine Orthodox church.
Unfortunately, it is still under restoration, so it is not possible to visit the interior.
I was only able to take a few photos of the exterior.
The park outside is lovely."

Alessandro Gasparini

"A little gem. Unfortunately closed for restoration when we visited, but we could still appreciate the exterior and gardens from the street. Panagia Chalkeon means Virgin of the Coppersmiths, and this is beautiful but maybe not as grand as soe of Thessaloniki's other Byzantine churches. Built in the 1000s, and unusual for the delightful garden that surrounds it."

Linda Suskie

"Beautiful church and gardens are still under restoration and seems far from complete in June 2025. Recommend not making a special trip to see this church."
